Bought an older home in Leicester in May and am trying to trace the title/deed back to 1923. I'm at a dead and at 1974 and the Reeves family. Can anyone help? Any Reeves' still in the area?

I bought a house in Leicester in May and have been going back through the deeds out of curiosity. I'm stuck at 1974, Reeves Estate. Any of the family still out here?

My Dad is from Leicester and I spent every summer and more with my grandparents in the little white house below Newfound Baptist's Graveyard. We still have family there and my heart will always live there.

I like your site, but I really need your street address so I can get directions. I couldn't find the street address or a map link on your site.

I am new here at this site and I am having to do a final report project in my Cultural Diversity class. I live in the town here and I do like this land around here. I am looking to find out all I can about this town, and the different races that live here.

I appreciate the concern which is been rose. The things need to be sorted out because it is about the individual but it can be with everyone. The above thought is smart and doesnâ??t require any further addition. Itâ??s perfect thought from my side. Barbara Brown Drug Intervention North Carolina

Wow, This site is growing ! Sweet! I see alot of work has come to life since I peeked in last year. In the 60's my family lived next to the Rogers on the old Brooks farm. Any info on that farm family? I now live in Savannah, Ga but family still live there (on a small part ) and we love history of the mountains.

We moved to Leicester in 1976 and built a home on Dix Cr. #2 on land purchased from the Franklins. Children attended the old red brick elementary school before the new one was built. Mr. Dennis Brown was principal. Norris Hall taught 3rd grade. Although we no longer live in NC its home to my children and was a wonderful experience.

I grew up and went to school in Leicester before Irwin came along. Family still lives on Brookshire Rd and has since 1950. I left and went in the Marine Corps and spent most of my adult life there. I live in a small community in California now but have visited the folks every year since I retired. Will be back this year also. I kniw Kyle Carver. Went to school with his sister Barbara. Beautiful area.

Thanks for the wonderful photos. We'll soon be moving into an older home in Leicester, after a full 30 year wait~

Found your great site while gathering info about Leicester. We bought land on Chestnut drive (off Newfound Rd) & are planning to move there, after retirement, sometime this spring. It will be quite a change moving from the flat, almost treeless Gulf Coast of Texas. We fell in love with the area a couple of years ago and are looking forward to spending the rest of our lives there.

I am the the great granddaughter of Leicester Chapman. I would love any information you could give me on my family. I moved from Asheville in 1955 and am the last of the family line from Sheppard Ffrench (Frank) Chapman who was Rose Chapman's brother. I have a wonderful manuscript done in 1941 entitled Rose of Rosscraggon.

New to Leicester -- 170 Newfound Road. I moved out here from the Avery's Creek area in Arden...looking around for places to run my dogs. This area seems to be more pastoral than woodsy, except for privately owned land. Are there any public hiking areas nearby? Anyone out there with woods and water willing to let me and my muts hike through? Jillian Wolf, ceramic artist, landscaper and cook (also looking for work!)

I moved here from Atlanta, tiring of the hustle and bustle there (and bad air, too). I must say in the short time I have been here I think I have learned quite a bit and this web site has furthered that. Thanks! And I must say Leicester is a great area of beauty, as well as a great location, with a bunch of other places to go too, which are less than a half hour away.

Great start! I'm glad Leicester has a site. I wish the contact page I visited had email contact instead of phone, though. I was trying to find out about renting the community center.
